RevWorks 6

RevWorks Download Brochures Request Software

RevWorks® 6 further enhances the state of the art for CAD-Driven Reverse Engineering™. In linking SolidWorks to your 3D digitizer or coordinate measuring machine (CMM), RevWorks opens the door to greatly enhanced productivity allowing you to capture the design intent of your parts more quickly than ever before. Real-time collection of part data and the immediate display of features within your SolidWorks model provide a critical link between design and development, which revolutionizes the way you capture the intellectual property contained in your existing parts. You can capture design intent from even worn and broken components. Reduce product development time, increase accuracy and have more fun while you work.

RevWorks is easy to use because it is fully integrated into the familiar SolidWorks interface. RevWorks is a SolidWorks Gold Partner application, and has been since 1997. This assures that RevWorks has met strict integration and quality standards. The display, editing, and management of features created with RevWorks all take place within the familiar SolidWorks interface. This tight integration means that you collect data from your part as you need it and the data automatically appears in your assembly or part document, ready for immediate use. RevWorks defines CAD-Driven Reverse Engineering.

AlignmentManager™

AlignmentManager™

Create and manage multiple datums and datum sets using using a variety of datumming types to create a common coordinate system between SolidWorks and your digitizer. You can also create digitizing environments larger than the reach of your digitizing device with the integrated LeapManager™ which tracks how you move a digitizer around a large part.

Datum Types

    • 3 – Point – Digitize 3 points to define datum plane and part orientation.
    • 3 – Sphere – Digitize 3 spheres define datum plane and part orientation.
    • Custom (3–2–1) – Digitize part geometry to define datum plane and part orientation.
ProbeManager™

ProbeManager™

Create and manage multiple probe and probe set definitions. RevWorks ProbeManager works interactively with each supported digitizing device to provide a comprehensive tool for defining, qualifying, verrifying and storing probe definitions. You can easily switch between qualified probes without losing part registration. For devcies that support accurate probe inteerchange, you can even switch probes without the need to requalify.

Supported Devices

    • Immersion – MicroScribe MX, G2 and 3D series digitizers
    • BIG – 3DCreator series digitizers
    • Romer/Cimcore – Infinite, 3000i and Stinger series digitizers
    • FARO – Platinum, Titanium, and earlier series digitizers
Feature Types;

Feature Types

RevWorks offers two options for collecting the point data used to make measurements and create features; Single Point Mode and Scan Point Mode. While operating in Single Point Mode, one press of a key or button causes one point to be taken. Data collected for 2D features in Single Point Mode may be taken any distance from the current sketch plane and the data is automatically projected to the currently active sketch plane. For 3D features the data is collected directly into a SolidWorks 3D sketch.

The Scan Point Mode now allows you to capture data using SnapScan™ or freeform scanning. SnapScan limits data collection to a user-definable collection band buffering the active sketch plane. This technique allows you to accurately collect data on a sectional plane without having actual markings or edges on the part to work from. With freeform scanning, you have the option to apply interval filters, which limit the data collected by definable measures such as time or distance. Freeform scanning allows you to collect streaming data on a freeform surface or along a 3D path and control the amount of information captured. These methods give you great flexibility for collecting part features and characteristics.

RevWorks supports the creation of a variety of sketch plane, 2D, and 3D feature types. Data for 2D features is always projected to the current SolidWorks sketch plane. Most 2D features may be automatically offset to compensate for the probe ball radius. You are not limited to collecting data on sketch planes. RevWorks supports several 3D feature types including splines, curves, lines and points using SolidWorks 3D sketches. RevWorks also allows you to create planes in a variety of ways. Planes can be created relative to a selected plane, sketch plane, or a planar part face and the resulting plane maintains a parametric relationship. You can also use RevWorks to create a multi-point plane anywhere in model space without having to base it on a relationship to an existing plane. This ability to freely position a plane gives you great flexibility for creating features from part geometry that is otherwise difficult to relate.

today's quote

"RevWorks, which we have been using for 2 years now, has enabled us to take on complicated jobs for parts that previously we would not have even considered quoting on. It has actually made these complicated parts easy to reverse engineer and also easy to inspect after manufacturing!"
